Plenty of great headlines lately. If I had the time, I would show how all of these disasters or whatever you want to call them are related in detail. We run from one crisis to another without room or time to catch our breath. Greece to Italy to the IMF to Germany bailing out Europe to Germany not bailing out Europe to Fast and Furious to MF Global to 45,000 jobs being cut at BOA to the Fed bailing out Europe to Sharia Law in Libya to drones being shot down in Iran to Israel being trashed at every turn.
Remember that the news has not covered the fact that droughts and floods have put enormous pressure on the global food supply. Now add in $100 per barrel oil which will soon go higher and food (which is already seeing huge inflation) is about to skyrocket. I found it amazing that if they had never changed how inflation was calculated back in the ’70′s, people receiving SSI would be getting almost 3 times what they receive today in benefits. The most ironic part of all of this is that the only thing the “super-committee” agreed upon was how to re-calculate inflation again turning the screws even tighter on those who depend on that figure the most.
If you were unlucky enough to watch any congressional hearings today, you most likely had your jaw hit the floor when you heard our attorney general exonerate those who lied and when Corzine said that he could not possibly know where the money is since he did not really deal with that part of the business all that much.
Put all of this together and one will see that it is “way past midnight”, to quote a friend. These folks have figured it out. (at least part of it)
Read history. Read your bible. Read and collect “how to books” on every topic from gardening to soap making. Get in shape. Teach your children what is important. Buy some hand tools. Develop necessary skills to make you indespensible. Reach out to those who might have a clue. Pray for those who don’t.

Time to Get Started If You Haven’t

During the past few weeks we have been spending time – helping a neighbor install a 12′ x 40′ tin roof on their barn – helped a friend work on his homestead – donated some time and training to a “residence” for some folks who were in need and gave them some seeds and some hands on planting tips and how to’s. In return we received the feeling of “this is how we are all supposed to live.” I have been away from my family for close to two weeks now doing the things that must be done; yet my wife was still encouraging me to spend time helping others. In no way is this tooting my own horn – saying “look at me.” This story is meant to be a reminder that shortly, we will all need to be helping each other. I find it continually amazing that the masses spend all their time in shopping malls, or on social media, or glued to the T.V. while all around them Rome burns. In our state, we have experienced this year – hottest day ever recorded, hottest summer ever recorded, coldest day ever recorded, strongest straight line wind ever recorded, largest hail stone ever recorded, largest earthquake ever recorded (these are all I can remember) and the year still has almost two full months left. Now add Greece’s debt nightmare with Italy close on their heals (if Italy goes it will take Europe’s largest banks with it), QE3 on the horizon, unavailability of M.R.E.’s (which we carry), long back order times on freeze dried foods, 87 bank failures in U.S. this year alone, 48% of population on some sort of government subsidy, unemployment, skyrocketing debt (federal, state and local, education), unfunded government mandates……this apple is ripe for picking. Hence, “time to get started if you haven’t.”
We attended a preparedness seminar recently and sold out the inventory we took with us. Folks drove over 250 miles just to attend. It was chock full of products, supplies and seminars for those who feel the pressure starting to rise. If you have read this far, you are feeling it too. If you are getting prepared, congratulations and please spread the word. If you are simply considering it, don’t wait too long.

No Right to Produce or Eat Food

Activist judges seem to be misunderstanding their role as the judicial branch, not the legislative branch -AGAIN! A Wisconsin judge has ruled that no one has the right to grow or eat their own food. Please read the article as this is merely one example of what is happening in many places right now around the country. Couple this with the thousands of new investigators the F.D.A. is going to hire to enforce its new regulations and the just discovered information that the E.P.A. is about to hire 230,000 new investigators to enforce its USA killing green house gas regulations. It is never too late. Scream this from the rooftops, publish it and write about it. More and more people are waking up everyday. Reinforce each other. My email box is full everyday with more and more folks learning and preparing. Your dollar buys less each day, yet more go unemployed and the prices continue to skyrocket.
A small backyard garden will feed a family of four very well. Simply get started. – Stock up on lot’s of 2nd clothing for your growing children (especially shoes). Throw away as little as possible. You never know what you’ll need. Learn to can fruits and vegetables on sale at the store. (We bought 20 lbs. of peaches when they were $ .25/lb.)
Most of all, connect with friends and neighbors who agree that it is a great idea to be prepared – just in case.

China…..We Need 230,000 Brown Shirts!

Any moron who thinks that adding an additional 230,000 government workers to enforce the F.D.A.’s new “green house” gas regulations is a good idea deserves what’s coming. This article spells out the sheer stupidity of the move. As the piece mentions, the number could grow to 6.1 million. This is nothing more than neighbor spying on neighbor. The most frightful part of this is that the masses (1) won’t know about it and (2) really don’t care. Hence the need for “brown shirts.”

Follow this up with how Monsanto’s new PCB’s are turning up everywhere. Just like the PCB’s of the past, when you find them, Monsanto is responsible. Monsanto knows that it’s gmo nightmare is causing death everywhere…”Back in the summer, it was revealed that Monsanto knew glyphosate caused birth defects, endocrine disruption, DNA damage, reproductive and developmental toxicity, neurotoxicity, and cancer.” The best part is that our government is in bed with them……..”sorry God, I only did it for the money.”

They are making us top heavy on purpose – too many on the freebies – too many on the government payroll – too much expansion. All by design. Time is running out. The Greek bailout farce is only a smokescreen. Find some space, plant your garden, know your neighbors, start to have a plan so that when Wal-Mart is empty, you might be able to be some sort of island for a few loved ones…….or…….”Sign up for your Feeding Center I.D. card over hear…….”

October Looks Bleak, Are You Prepared?

Too many signs abound regarding what is coming. Israel has dumped 46% of its U.S. treasuries and Russia has dumped 95% of their U.S. treasuries. Stock traders have bet against the October S&P 500 futures at an alarming rate. These are just small samplings of the information available to all of us. It won’t take much to nudge us into a free fall. The NYSE fluctuations are simply a precursor to what is around the corner. If you think that the Dow hovering around 11,500 is a true reflection of the current state of things, then please go back to watching Charlie Sheen or whatever else brings on the numbness in your head. For the rest of us, look at Greece’s and the U.K.’s riots. Merkel’s party is taking a thumping at the polls because of her “helping” Greece. This means that Greece’s meal ticket has run out. You think the riots are bad now, just wait until the Greek government has NO money to send out as retirement checks! Greece will simply be the first one to slip into the ocean. The reverberations will be felt world wide.
Since the global economies are somewhat dependent upon each other, what does Israel and Russia know that hasn’t filtered down to us yet. I am afraid that there are no more fingers to put in the dyke. Spin as they might, those pesky facts keep slipping through telling us that we are in real trouble.
BOA is laying of something like 30,000 employees. Best Buy, Kodak and others are in real trouble. If no one is employed, then no one can buy food or fuel. This means no one is paying sales tax…. How long until our police stop getting paychecks? Would you go to work as a policeman without a paycheck? We are teetering.
I keep going back to Israel, Russia and the bets against October’s S&P by those in the know. Something wicked this way comes…
No one knows how bad. However, my gas cans, pantry, propane and many other handy items are FULL! Please do the same. Don’t go to the “feeding center.”

Corn – Pencil Cob

A very flavorful roasting ear corn. It is quite good picked in its early milk stage (about 75 days) for frying or creaming. Plant grows 5 to 6′ tall and produces 2 to 3 ears per stalk. It gets its name from the fact that the cobs are not much bigger in diameter than a pencil. Kernels are a dingy white with a yellowish hue with tips that pick up a reddish tinge from the cob coloring. Stands dry weather well. Each packet contains about 200 seeds.

Collard Greens – Georgia Southern
